SUMMARY:MYOFASCIA BREATHING – A profound journey to harmony
DESCRIPTION:\nFascia is a connective matrix, essentially composed of water and collagen fibers, that envelops, connects, and supports all body structures and operates on a principle of biotensegrity, where tension and compression are balanced to maintain the structural integrity of the body. Its is a highly resistant web like architecture designed to provide stability and transmit forces within the body. Its three-dimensional collagenous network surrounds, supports, and connects all of our bodily systems, from our bones to our vessels, passing by each of our organs and muscle bundles. In a healthy terrain, the fascia network is absorbent and resilient. When experiencing physical trauma or inflammatory patterns, the fascia loses its pliability and hardens, and when it hardens it inhibits physiologic (nerves/blood/lymph) and energetic circulations which will impact our well being and health.\n\n\n\nFascia is a reticular structure composed of collagen fibers – which are extremely strong and not very flexible, and it contains a significant amount of water, which allows sliding and gliding in the fascial planes. The fascia releases and reorganizes itself under the effect of adapted forces. Only prolonged, slow and targeted action can achieve lasting results by modifying the density and fluidity of the fascial network. To durably benefit the fascia health condition, we need to enhance profound tissue relaxation and hydration, firstly respecting its bio-mechanical aspects and biological rhythm. Lasting changes will only manifest by progressive remodeling induced by slow and sustained forces, gentle and prolonged pressure, subtle pulsations, and pacifying breath. Only then the fascia plasticity responds positively by the natural reorganization of its collagen fibers, releasing deep tensions, enhancing re-absorbtion and rehydratation, and we then experience profound structural transformation.\n\n\n\nThe myofascia is an aspect of the connective tissue three-dimensional network which meanders around and within all the muscles, from bundles to fibers, from macro to micro, containing and supporting each muscle cell (myosin), and creating a semi-fluidic matrix interconnecting all individual muscles into one continuous bed of relation. This network is our organ and structure of motion, enabling us to evolve as an intelligent and sentient unit. Understanding and experiencing motion by integrating the intelligence of the myofascia network allows our bodily expression to be harmonious as well as it supports energy flow and physiological balance. It also helps us to improve multi-joint stability and strength. Myofascia Breathing is experiential research on the deep releasing and vitalizing of the myofascial matrix. In Myofascia Breathing we cultivate resiliency and openness by liberating blockages and tensions throughout our extra-cellular connective matrix. Nurtured by breath and clear attention, we deepen our endurance, experience effortless motion, and enrich our connected flow. Myofascia Breathing is a restorative set of breath-full motions practiced with Shibari ropes. The rope is a fantastic tool to tune into the subtle lines of connections within our bodily tissues, enabling us to listen sensitively within and harmonize our connective network. With subtle intelligence attention, we deepen our perception of the internal motions and learn to balance the tensegrity within us. She mainly applies her researches to her visual and performative art and shares it through her pedagogic and therapeutic approaches which she defines as Embodied Philosophy & Energetic Physiology. Louise is a certified Body-Mind Centering® Practitioner.
